About Study Guard

We provide information and online training to help international students stay safe.

We take privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect and use information from students and our clients (i.e. the educational institutions and other international education businesses who use our services.)

What personal information do we collect?

When you enrol in a course, or subscribe to your blog we collect your name and email address.

Financial data 

We collect credit card data from our clients during the billing process.

We do not sell our services directly to students and do not collect financial data from students.

Cookies do not identify you as an individual but they do identify your browser type, the operating system you are using, the web page you visited, your internet service provider, and your country and city location. 

We use different types of cookies on the Study Guard website:

Essential: cookies that are essential for us to provide the services your have requested. For example we use cookies to remember whether you are logged in to your Study Guard account so that you do not have to log in every time you visit our website.

Performance: cookies which measure how often you visit our website and how you use it. We use this information to understand how you engage with our website and the content we provide so that we can give you a better experience. We also use third party cookies to help with performance. For example, the Google Analytics cookie enables us to understand how you and other users move around our website, and which parts of it are the most useful and informative for our users.

      We are committed to keeping secure the Personal Information you provide to us.  We take precautions to protect the Personal Information we hold about you from misuse, loss, interference, theft and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

      How can you request your personal information held by Study Guard?

      You can request access to details of the Personal Information that we hold about you at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer (see "Contact Information" below).

      We will respond to any such request for access as soon as we can.  We may require you to set out the request in writing.  In most cases, we will try to provide with you a copy or details of your Personal Information in the manner requested.  Otherwise, we will work with you to find a mutually agreed alternative.  If, after exploring all options, we cannot provide you with access to the information in the form requested, or have other lawful grounds, we will provide a written statement setting out our reasons for refusal.

      How can you correct or delete your personal information ?

      We may not be able to provide you with the services you are seeking if you provide incomplete or inaccurate Personal Information.  If you believe the Personal Information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, please contact us using the details listed below so that we can correct it.

      To the extent we are subject to the GDPR, if you would like us to delete Personal Information we have collected from you, please contact us using the details listed below.  Please note that we may be required by law to retain certain Personal Information.  Before we are able to provide you with any information, correct any inaccuracies, or delete Personal Information, we may ask you to verify your identity and/or provide other details to help us respond to your request.

      How to make a complaint

      If you have a complaint, we encourage you to inform us so that we can have the opportunity to fix the problem.  We will aim to resolve your complaint within five business days from when we receive your complaint in writing.
